Weight Loss, a concern for a lot of people, for some it is a positive or intentional change and, for some it is a negative or unintentional change. No matter how good a person’s fitness and diet routine is, there are a few lying and cheating involved in it. Several myths are there about loosing weight. Unfortunately, these myths do nothing but hamper the condition of health. The five major myths are: Snacking is always a bad idea, No more fast food, Carbs are all bad, certain food burn calories and if an individual eats and does exercises regularly he/ she will never gain weight. These are not right approaches at all.

Let’s look at snacking first. An individual does not have to fast to lose weight. The idea of not having anything between meals is also a myth. When an individual’s stomach rumbles, he/ she hears a little voice which tells him/ her not to spoil his/ her appetite. Having snacks between two meals actually helps a person to eat fewer and to stave off the recommendation to binge or overeat afterwards. In fact, dietitians often advise to have five smaller meals per day rather than eating calories all in a single sitting. One of the major causes of snacking having an awful rap is because of the options we take from. If one tends to dive into a chips bag, he/ she should rather try to have nourishing food. He/ she should try nuts, vegetables or fruits then.

A person does not need to stay away from fast food such as, double cheeseburgers, sodas, apple pies or fries to maintain a good diet. The problem regarding fast food is they have more sodium content than ideal balance. It is a problem to avoid unless an individual sticks to salad. Some healthy ideas are: a starter with salad, choosing the grilled chicken instead of the breaded, fried chicken, getting soft tacos rather than crispy, hard tacos and keeping the dressings and sauce on the side or scraping off as much as possible.

It is also a myth that all carbohydrates are bad. All carbohydrates are not created evenly. If a person wants to steer clear of processed carbohydrates that are made of high flour and sugar, he/she should enjoy beans instead of this the carbohydrates. The body also implements carbohydrates as fuel while exercising for burning body fat. That’s why to burn body fat, it is a good cause to keep bread on the menu.

There is contradictory information about whether specific foods can augment the metabolic rate which enables to burn more calories. Different food proffers different physical advantages. People wonder if calories differ from one food to the next over and over again. Some health specialists say that, no food enhance metabolism rate. Even if some food augment the metabolism rate but the increase is very marginal. Instead of this food pattern, many practitioners suggest for weight lifting. Because lifting weight helps to build muscle. By building muscle, a person enhances the number of calories that his/ her body burns while having rest. Some physicians also suggest having food with high fiber content and water because they remain in the body system for a longer period. It is an advantage for taking off the additional weights.

A person needs to be willful for making changes in his/ her lifestyle and adjust his/ her diet as his/ her age changes and he/ she grows. The truth is, a person’s metabolism rate slows down drastically. Due to that, the person has to either exercise or eat less food. Many physicians state that, the major modification generally takes place around the age of 40 years. Gradually, the metabolism rate continues to slow down over the years. So, an individual has to keep his/ her exercise and food plan a bit flexible. When it comes to exercise and diet, the prime concern that a person has to be sure of, is that there will be new loss of weight scheme everyday.

If a person is very concerned about weight loss, he has to consult with a physician. These myths have to be avoided to lose weight because these may hamper the body fitness.
